Description: This seven-story reinforced concrete building occupies nearly three-quarters of a block, was built by the J.W. Bateson Company and cost $26 million. It contains the three-story Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library, science classrooms, and a sub-basement parking garage. Above the top floor is a false front with vertical openings, which gives the massive building a decorative touch. Named after Walter George Ross, honorary Trustee and Honorary Doctor of Laws (1967) , Ross Hall (as the complex is commonly called) was completed in 1973. The University Mall, which abuts the Foggy Bottom metro station entrance and hospital, was completed and dedicated in 1980.
