University Mace

The University Mace is carried by the University Marshal as a symbol of this official gathering. The Mace was created by Harry Irving Gates, Associate Professor of Sculpture, and was presented by the Faculty Women’s Club of the George Washington University. The profile of George Washington is shown on the flanges.
