The Vice President for Student and Academic Support Services of The George Washington University reports to the President. The office oversees a wide range of areas related to student life: Admissions (undergraduate), Athletics and Recreation, Financial Assistance, Dean of Students, Career Center, Community Living and Learning Center, University Counseling Center, International Services, Marvin Center, Mount Vernon Campus Life Office, Multicultural Student Services Center, Office of Community Service, Parent Services, Presidential Administrative Fellowship, Recreational Sports and Fitness Services, SASS Communication and Technology (Creative Services [including the Spirit Programs], Technology Communications), Student Activities Center, Student Health Services, Summer Camp: The GW Summer Tour, Student Judicial Service, Colonial Inauguration, Disability Support Service, Center for Alcohol and other Drug Education, and University Police.

In 2003 the name was changed to Senior Vice President for Student and Academic Support Services. Before 1989 it was named Vice President for Student Affairs.
